The day before, we set off for Fairford, where the Air Tattoo was taking place for three days. We stayed overnight in Steventon, about 50 minutes from Fairford. We enjoyed a fine dinner - fish and chips and a beer to go with it. The next day we had to get up at five. We packed the car and drove to Fairford. The car park was quickly found and we marched to the flying site. After about 30 minutes we were at the entrance and then my heart started to beat a little faster when I saw all the planes standing there. We found a place, settled in and started to enjoy the day. First we had a look at the planes at the bathing area until the air show started at 10.00 a.m.. We were treated to a flight spectacle with many planes and helicopters, something I had never seen before. The photo camera was in my hand practically the whole day, because there was a non-stop flight programme until 6.30 p.m.! The PC-7 team and the F/A-18C Hornet of the Swiss Airforce were also in the sky. It was impressive with the best weather conditions. The next day we drove back to our colleagues, who of course were also with us at the Air Show.
