Heute ging es nochmals in den Banff Nationalpark und zwar zum Lake Louise und Lake Moraine. Beim Lake Louise war der Besucheransturm gross, denn dieser Lake ist wohl der bekannteste Lake in Kanada und auch einer der schönsten. Weiter führte uns der Weg durch den Yoho und den Glacier Nationalpark. Im Yoho Park sieht man, wie am Gotthard, die Kehrtunnels der Eisenbahn. Wenn man Glück hat, so sieht man den ganzen Zug am Anfang und am Ende des langen Tunnels, denn so ein Zug hat eine Länge von 114 Wagen und drei Loks, haben wir selber gezählt !!! Bei der Durchfahrt des Glacier Park sieht man den Swiss Pic und viele Gletscher, denn der Park hat nicht weniger als 400 davon. Am Abend erreichten wir Revelstoke wo wir im Swiss Chalet Motel übernachteten.

Today we revisited Banff National Park to see Lake Louise and Lake Moraine. Both of these lakes are fed by glaciers and have the typical green blue colour of glacier water. Heading for Revelstoke we drove through the Yoho and Glacier National Parks – Glacier has over 400 glacires covering a 10th of it’s area. Yoho Park has railway loops to get the trains up the mountain similar to the Gotthard loops. If you are lucky you can see a train coming out of the loop while the rest of it is going in – the trains are extremely long – one we counted had 114 trucks and 3 engines. In Revelstoke we spent the night in the Swiss Chalet Motel – didn’t look like a Swiss Chalet at all!
