Den heutigen Tag verbrachten wir im bekannten Nationalpark El Teide, wo sich auch der gleichnamige 3718 Meter hohe Vulkan befindet. Vom Hotel aus fuhren wir auf der TF-1 bis nach Chio, wo es dann nach oben ging bis auf rund 2200 Meter. Das Wetter konnte nicht besser sein, denn der Himmel war wolkenlos. Auf der Fahrt gab es etliche Viewpoint wo wir halt machten, staunten über die faszinierende Natur und dabei viele tolle Fotos schossen. Allmählich konnte man sehen wie die Wolken hochkamen und schon etwas Nebel bildete. Ein guter Hintergrund für grossartige Fotos. Für die Fahrt mit der Bahn hoch zum Vulkan auf über 3000 Meter hatten wir Tickets für übermorgen bekommen. Im Verlaufe des Nachmittags machten wir uns dann auf die Rückfahrt zum Hotel. Schon nach ein paar Höhenmeter erreichten wir die Wolkendecke, welche am Fuss des Vulkans hing. Wie ging nochmal der Spruch? Oben blau - unten grau! Und so endete ein Traumtag auf über 2000 Metern Höhe.

Today we spent driving through the El Teide National Park where the 3718 meter high vulcano with the same name can be found. From the hotel we took the TF-1 to Chio and then the road up into the park which goes up to about 2200 meters. The weather couldn’t have been better. Clear blue skies and lovely sunshine. There are many view points along the way which we took full advantage of gazing at the amazing formations nature has made. Again we could see the clouds coming down creating fog - making some brilliant backdrops for photos. We had tickets for the cable car up to the top of the volcano for the day after tomorrow. Late afternoon we went back to the hotel driving through the fog to the coast where the sun was shining.
