Helengeli hat ein tolles Hausriff, welches von verschieden Einstiegsstellen nach ein paar Metern erreicht werden kann. Abhängig ist es natürlich immer von der gegenwärtigen Strömung, die sich von Tag zu Tag ändern kann. Das Riff bietet viele Arten von Fischen in allen bunten Farben. Wir sahen zum Beispiel Feuerfische, Adlerrochen, Muränen, Tintenfische, Haie, viele Schildkröten, Kofferfische, Barrakudas, Napoleons und vieles mehr. Es war wirklich nie langweilig am Riff. Die Schnorchelzonen werden auch immer von Guides überwacht, besonders dann wenn das Wetter nicht besonders und das Meer unruhig ist. Schnorchelausrüstung kann gratis gemietet werden bei der Tauchbasis. Da wir keine Taucher (mehr) sind, können wir über die Tauchbasis auch nichts sagen nur, dass es der OBLU Kette angehört und PADI anerkannt ist.

Helengeli has a wonderful house reef which has several entry points from the island. All only a few meters from the beach. Of course which point you use depends on the currents which can change rapidly. There are many types of fish in all imaginable colours. We saw fire fish, eagle rays, moray eels, octopus, sharks, several turtles, barracudas, napoleons and many many more. It was never boring and we went every day. The snorkel areas are well controlled in particularly when the weather is not so good and the sea is a little rough. Masks, snorkels and fins are included in the island package and can be collected and the returned to the diving base. As neither of us dive anymore we can’t say anything about the diving base except that it belongs to the Oblu chain and is PADI recognised.
