Heute blieben wir mal etwas länger im Bett als die letzten Tage, denn das Tagesziel von heute war das etwa 140 km entfernte Ocho Rios. Die Fahrt führte uns entlang der Nordküste durch viele Dörfer hindurch. Die Strasse hier im Norden hatte keine Schlaglöcher wo man immer ausweichen musste. Je näher man Ocho Rios kam, desto mehr merkte man, dass hier auch Touristen sind. Wir suchten unser Hotel oberhalb von Ocho Rios. Hotel gefunden mit einer fantastischen Aussicht auf Ocho Rios, wäre da nicht ein kleines Problem. Hier gab es nichts zu Trinken und auch nichts zu Essen. Das Frühstück gab es im knapp 15 Minuten entfernten Schwesterhotel am Strand. Dass uns dies nicht passte und dies auch nicht so abgemacht war, organisierten wir selber einen Hotelwechsel ins Schwesterhotel gegen einen Aufpreis. Für ein paar Dollars genossen wir hier All- Inklusive. Am Nachmittag unternahmen wir noch einen Ausflug zu den Dunn's Falls unweit von unserem Hotel entfernt. Hier konnte man die Falls erklimmen, was viel Spass machte. Wir hatten das Glück, dass es fast keine Leute hatte, denn wenn ein Kreuzfahrtschiff im Hafen ist, dann ist es hier ragelvoll. Am Abend genossen wir dann einen, oder auch einen mehr, Apero und ein gutes Essen auf der Terrasse. Es gab ein Buffet mit viel Auswahl. Nach dem Essen ein Schlummertrung und dann ab in die Falle. Morgen ist dann unsere letzte Etappe auf dem Programm, zu unserem letzten Ziel - Negril.

Today we slept late - till 7:30!! Our stop for the night was in Ocho Rios - about 140km drive. We took the coast road along the north coast through many villages. To our pleasant surprise there were no pot holes and the roads were very good! We passed through many Coconut and Banana plantations. On getting closer to Ocho Rios it became clear that we were getting to a tourist area. More shops and certainly more sign posts! We found our hotel in the hills above Ocho Rios with some fantastic views over Ocho Rios town and bay. We found out to our amazement that the hotel had no restaurant - no bar - nothing! Our breakfast was 15 minutes’ drive away in the partner hotel on the beach. It is recommended that you don't drive after dark so we decided that we would change hotels. For a few dollars more we could swap to the beach hotel with all inclusive. After checking in at the second hotel we headed off to Dunn's Falls. Here one can climb up the falls and swim in the refreshing pools. Lucky for us there were no cruise ships on the Bay as the falls would have then been full. In the evening we enjoyed an Apero at the beach bar then dinner on the terrace. Then before bed one last drink at the bar. Tomorrow we head off on the last day of our round trip to enjoy a week of doing nothing in Negril.
